Lingchen M60 Bus Dynamic Topology Solution
In today's era of increasingly intelligent industrial automation, collaborative operation across multiple workstations has become a common scenario. The ability to dynamically start and stop individual workstations without affecting overall operation has become a key concern for many customers. Suzhou Lingchen Data Acquisition Computer Co., Ltd.'s M60 bus dynamic topology solution was developed precisely to address this need.

Project Overview
The M60 bus dynamic topology solution supports the flexible activation of selected workstations in an environment with multiple workstations. This solution has three main features:
⦁Fixed aliases for all slave stations ensure unique device identification.
⦁The star topology structure ensures that a power outage at one workstation (e.g., workstation 1) does not affect the normal operation of other stations (workstations 2 and 3);
⦁Changes to the topology structure do not require reconfiguration, significantly improving system flexibility.

Hardware and network configuration
This solution recommends using the PCI(E)-M60 board and the LC-EC-1T5 network splitter to build a star network structure. Each workstation is independently connected through the splitter, ensuring no physical interference, thus achieving true "hot-swapping" and dynamic start/stop capabilities.

Method of function implementation
⦁Non-expert mode automatic configuration: The board supports automatic identification and configuration, reducing configuration complexity.
⦁Alias function application: By assigning a unique alias to each node, the system ensures that slave device identification is not affected by the physical connection order. For example, the switch node aliases can be set to 1 and 2, and the slave node aliases to 10, 11, 12, 13, etc., avoiding duplication.
⦁Dynamic topology switching: During actual operation, a workstation (such as ST10 or ST20) can be started or stopped independently, and the system will still correctly identify the remaining slave devices, enabling dynamic adjustment of the topology structure.
⦁Single-site function support: The M60 provides single-slave operation functions (including IO functions), avoiding the problem of IO sequence confusion caused by a power outage of a single slave device. At the same time, the axis number is consistent with the node alias, ensuring that axis control is bound to the slave device and does not change with the connection order.
Conclusion
The M60 bus dynamic topology solution, through key technologies such as alias assignment, star topology, and single-station functions, achieves flexible configuration and dynamic management of multiple workstations, significantly improving the reliability and scalability of industrial control systems. Leveraging years of technological expertise and industry experience, Lingchen Company continuously provides customers with high-performance, highly reliable industrial control solutions, contributing to the advancement of intelligent manufacturing in China.
